Keeping cool and Keepin Cool

So I’m in Cambodia right now, on an island just off the south called Koh Rong, and it’s amazing!

However, as this island has NO ATM’s NO roads and NOTHING but sand, sea and sun, you need to adapt! Well I certainly did!

As we were told when we checked into our “sea shack” the guy told us basically to throw our shoes off the peir as this island is “no shoes island” riiiiiiigggghtt.. Well I agree now! Getting caught up in the sand in your flip flops or getting sand in your sock, no!!!!! So we are now barefooted, but with a good sense of style of course.

A few things I’ve been wearing and mix and matching which have been super simple and adaptable to where I am are;

I bought these shorts years ago and never really worn them and I only packed them as they were light! But now I’m obsessed with them and I can’t believe I never wear them! They’re from “Blue Rinse” however, I bought them in Miss Selfridge and I think they were around £30, which for me I can’t believe I bought them, I’m usually so stingy!!!

They have a little slit up the side of them, like 90s runner shorts, and there loose fitting with an elastic waistline so they’re so comfy and easy to throw over a bikini.. Tick!

There’s always that go-to outfit when you’re either going to the beach, nipping out or even getting food. I seem to just be grabbing these mint shorts (American Apparel) and oatmeal crop – also AA. The crop top isn’t too high, showing too much midrif, but light enough to keep cool and over your shoulders!! They’re both such comfy pieces that go with everrrrrything!

There’s always got to be a handful of bikinis (maybe three handfuls .. Or more) and swimsuits! The two that I’ve been wearing the most just snorkelling or swimming in a pool are these. On the left is my Triangl bikini on it’s first holiday, yay! I love the contrast of the two colours and patterns – have a look at my previous post Triangl Buys. The one on the right is from H&M that I have had for a while, but it still is very flattering and looks fun and summery! You had to buy the two pieces separately but as I remember they were pretty cheap! I like the coral/oranges of these bikinis also. The contrasting patterns against the block colour is something that I really like! What do you think? What would you bring?

Travelling OOTN

So I haven’t been able to blog a lot since I’m travelling SE Asia! I’m currently in Cambodia, ready to visit the Angkor temples tomorrow, we’re leaving at 4am to get there for sunrise and I’m so excited!

However, back on the topic of fashion, I have to say it’s hard to keep looking your best in 35 degree heat and keep cool!

Yesterday I wore this little daisy playsuit from Primark (£5!) with some nude thong sandals! This playsuit is super simple to wear, and keeps you cool as the fabric is thin and light.

I really like the back of this playsuit as well, there is a cut out in the back – you can still wear a bra as the back clasp is covered – you can’t see it too much is this picture.

I also love wearing my American Apparel cross back bra with this, the cross over of the straps adds a little something extra I think! It’s also so comfy and great if you’re in a hot country as it’s literally just fabric.

To keep my hair off my face and neck I just plaited it loosely and tucked any loose hairs into the plait or wove it into my hair to create a kind of twirl.

I also love fishtail plaits, I think they look so intricate but they’re so easy to do! What other plaits/hair styles would you recommend??

Starting my travels!

Well the time has come around so quickly, and I’m currently in Bangkok! Ready to start traveling around South East Asia!!!

If you look back through a few of my posts I’ve been going on about it for ages, and I’m so excited it’s finally here!!

I packed the day before (mistake!!!) and believe me I PACKED! A girl going travelling for two/three months who loves fashion? A whole lot of cramming!

I did it quite well actually, and it’s all nearly rolled and tucked in together, it’s just so heavy! I’m telling myself that it’s just all my cosmetics and it’ll be so much lighter when I run out….. Hmm..

We flew with Qatar Airways and the service was amazing! Just the long haul flight I’m just not good with! Then to our absolute dispair we reached Qatar thinking we had a 2 hour layover, as we were told by the travel agents, only to realise we had to wait 9 hours till 7 in the morning! It was horrific. Me and my boyfriend actually started doing laps of the airport to pass time.

But we’re here now, it’s currently 4am and I’m not used to the time difference and I’m wide awake! I can’t wait to start exploring and start my first day off tomorrow!

Can’t wait to see all the market stalls, and all the new fashion. Make sure to keep you all updated!!

Good night from Bangkok!
